For National poetry month and Earth month, join Red-tail Land Conservancy and the library as we read Mary Oliver's Owls and Other Fantasies: Poems and Essays "A perfect introduction to Mary Oliver’s poetry, this stunning collection features 26 nature poems and prose writings about the birds that played such an important role in the Pulitzer Prize winner’s life. Within these pages you will find hawks, hummingbirds, and herons; kingfishers, catbirds, and crows; swans, swallows and, of course, the snowy owl, among a dozen others-including ten poems that have never before been collected" (Evergreen synopsis).
For our first meeting at the library, we'll have snacks and discuss the first half of the book. For the second meeting, we'll meet offsite at Stout Memorial Woodland for some fresh air and forest bathing as we discuss the second half of the book.
